Terms and Conditions

Welcome to our website. By accessing, browsing, or using this website and purchasing our services or products, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions, which constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("the Customer") and Lightning Blade Engraving.

1. Custom Orders, Design Approvals, and Accuracy

  • Proof Approval Requirement: For all custom laser engraving orders, Lightning Blade Engraving will provide a digital design proof for review. Production will not commence until the Customer provides explicit, written or digital approval of the final proof.

  • Customer Responsibility: It is the sole responsibility of the Customer to thoroughly inspect and verify all spelling, grammar, layout, dimensions, and design specifications during the proofing stage.

  • Waiver of Liability for Approved Designs: Once a proof is approved by the Customer, Lightning Blade Engraving shall not be held liable for any errors, typos, or design flaws present in the final product that were also present in the approved proof. No refunds, credits, or replacements will be issued for errors approved by the Customer.

2. Payments, Pricing, and Sourcing

  • Payment in Full: Full payment is required before custom design processing and production begin, unless a separate written agreement or deposit structure has been formally executed by Lightning Blade Engraving.

  • Customer-Provided Materials and Assumption of Risk: If the Customer supplies their own items or materials ("Customer-Provided Goods") for laser engraving, the Customer explicitly acknowledges and accepts the inherent risks involved in laser processing (including, but not limited to, material failure, heat stress, machine malfunction, or unexpected chemical reactions of the material).

  • Limitation of Liability for Customer Goods: Lightning Blade Engraving takes reasonable precautions but explicitly disclaims all liability for damage to, or destruction of, Customer-Provided Goods. Lightning Blade Engraving is not responsible for the replacement cost of any Customer-Provided Goods under any circumstances.

3. Shipping, Local Pickup, and Risk of Loss

  • Geographic Service Availability: Lightning Blade Engraving provides local services, pickups, and deliveries within the Northwest Indiana (NWI) and Chicagoland areas, alongside nationwide shipping services.

  • Transfer of Risk of Loss: All shipped orders are sent via third-party common carriers (e.g., USPS, UPS, FedEx). Risk of loss and title for all items pass to the Customer immediately upon our delivery of the goods to the shipping carrier.

  • Carrier Delays and Damages: Lightning Blade Engraving is strictly not liable for transit delays, lost shipments, misdeliveries, or structural damages incurred during transit. The Customer’s sole remedy for shipping issues lies with the respective carrier, though Lightning Blade Engraving may assist in providing documentation for carrier claims at its sole discretion.

4. Production Timelines, Order Queue, and Holidays

  • Estimated Timelines: Production turnaround times vary depending on the complexity of the project, material availability, and current shop capacity.

  • Fluctuations via Active Queue: The Customer acknowledges that final completion and delivery dates are heavily dependent upon Lightning Blade Engraving's current order volume and active production queue at the time of order placement. Orders are processed sequentially based on approval dates.

  • Holiday Schedule and Seasonal Volume: Turnaround times may be extended during major holidays and peak seasonal periods. Lightning Blade Engraving advises placing holiday orders well in advance to accommodate increased volume and potential shipping carrier delays.

  • No Liability for Delays: All delivery and production dates provided by Lightning Blade Engraving are good-faith approximations only. Lightning Blade Engraving explicitly disclaims any liability for direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from production delays, supply chain constraints, holiday closures, or high seasonal volume.

5. Rush Orders and Expedited Fees

  • Rush Processing Availability: Requests for expedited processing must be submitted and approved by Lightning Blade Engraving in writing prior to production. Acceptance of rush orders is entirely at Lightning Blade Engraving's discretion based on current shop capacity.

  • Non-Refundable Rush Fees: Approved rush orders will incur a mandatory, non-refundable rush fee, calculated either as a flat rate or as a percentage of the total order value.

  • Exclusion of Shipping Fees: Rush fees solely cover the accelerated production schedule within our facility. The Customer remains entirely responsible for any additional costs associated with upgraded, expedited carrier shipping required to meet their deadline.

6. Intellectual Property, Indemnification, and Media Rights

  • Warranty of Ownership: The Customer warrants and represents that they own or possess all necessary licenses, copyrights, trademarks, and permissions for any logos, artwork, text, or graphics submitted to Lightning Blade Engraving for engraving.

  • Indemnification Clause: The Customer agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Lightning Blade Engraving, its owners, and employees from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, demands, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or resulting from any alleged or actual infringement of third-party intellectual property rights by the materials submitted by the Customer.

  • Promotional Media Rights: Lightning Blade Engraving reserves the right to photograph, video record, and showcase any completed items on its website, social media, or marketing materials for promotional purposes. If the Customer wishes to opt out of this, they must notify Lightning Blade Engraving explicitly in writing prior to the start of production.

Return and Refund Policy

  • All Sales Final on Custom Goods: Due to the highly customized and permanent nature of laser engraving, all custom-made items are sold "as-is" and are completely non-refundable, non-returnable, and non-exchangeable once production has commenced.

  • Order Cancellation: Orders may not be canceled once production has begun. Cancellations requested prior to production may be subject to a fee covering any digital design work or material sourcing already completed.
